I tell people Finland is where the race starts... Mile 51.5. I may have warmed briefly by the fire at Sonju in 2019.
Every year the goal is to make it to County Road 6 by dark. Seeing how long we can go makes for a nice distraction heading into the night.
Tettegouche is my favorite aid station. The chaos at the aid station pretty well embodies the chaos of the trail.
Not a lot to report between Beaver Bay and Silver Bay. Just keeping things moving here... much like what happened during the event :)
This compilation is trip one from my Superior 2019 story, "A Tale of Two Trips". I hope you get an appreciation for the hard work that goes into putting on the Superior 100 Mile Trail Race. Rocksteady Running and their band of sisters and brothers know how to create one heck of an experience!
It's early in the event here. Much of what happens isn't real memorable. I know it's going to get hard and I'm trying to put as much time between me and the grim sweeper as possible here early.
This year I was going for back to back finishes. In order to finish you've got to start. This is the beginning of trip number two.
