EDGE Training Group Story and Format
EDGE Training Group is an 8 week alchemy of five core elements designed to transform and/or enhance your life and maximize impact. The five core elements are vision, block/rhythm, action, nourish and energize.
I was first introduced to this online community idea when I joined The School of Greatness Academy in early 2014. That experience had a profound effect on me. We learned all about creating and running an online business and experienced a real sense of community in the SOGA closed Facebook group. It was during that first group cycle that I founded EDGE Training Group and was excited to get things going. I was creating it as I went and became discouraged when only one of the 6 people who invested in the process actually took the first step after buying it, a 15 minute phone call with me. Since then I have been creating the five core elements and working on a system to engage members on a very deep level.
I've written and rewritten the course material dozens of times and imagined ways that I could present the material to optimize the value I was giving those going through it. The time to kick off EDGE Training Group is now! I want to share what I've learned from giving up alcohol, losing weight and completing more than a dozen ultra marathons. - Community - The unofficial 5th pillar of health and success
- Accountability - Communicating directly with me and sharing your progress in the closed Facebook group
- Organizational tools - I'll teach you a system that has worked well for me in the past at juggling everything life throws at you. This Block/Rhythm system has been reinforced in many books I've read over the years.
- Customized workout plan - We'll meet up front and I'll provide you with a workout plan to reach your goals. Then, we'll check in at the halfway point to discuss modifications and progression. Finally, upon completion of the EDGE Training Group experience we'll meet in a sort of exit interview and you'll have the option to continue online personal training with me. This includes access to the exercise library and monthly custom programming meetings.
- Education - Lot's of education on, what I believe to be, the four pillars of health and success: stress management, sleep habits, food choices (nutrition) and exercise. There is education woven into every element making up EDGE Training Group.

Why do I feel qualified to lead you through this process and what's different about EDGE Training Group?
Well, I've made a lot of mistakes. That's a good place to start although I don't know if it separates me from many other people. So, what does separate me from other people and what makes this experience unique?
- I'm a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach.
- I'm a husband and father of 3.
- I was a stay at home Dad for the better part of 10 years.
- I'm a business owner since 2012.
- I've completed more than a dozen ultra marathon events.
- I provide a truly personal approach to transformation and/or enhancement through EDGE Training Group.
- It's been in process since 2014.
- The elements have produced incredible results in my own life and the lives of many of my clients.
- The community that EDGE Training Group offers.
- The interview process prior to the ETG experience. I want to make sure that EDGE Training Group is a good fit before you invest in the program.
- The personalized approach you'll get in EDGE Training Group. I'm only taking on 10 individuals at a time so you'll get to know me pretty well along with the others going through the program with you.
- This is like a college course of life. A "how to guide" on the rhythms that work best in your individual life. Much of what you'll discover and take action on will be things that you decide not me. It's kind of like a choose your own adventure book with real life consequences, whether they be positive or negative.
- The accountability built in. You and I will meet personally to discuss how you can get the most out of this experience, then we'll check in at the halfway point and make any adjustments in real time. That's real life.
What's all this talk about exercise and program design?
.Exercise is sexy right? There are many benefits to exercising regularly, both health related and as it relates to success in our lives. There are three phases of training that I've identified. At the beginning of ETG I'll have you fill out a questionnaire prior to our initial meeting. Then, when we do meet I'll ask you clarifying questions about your exercise and we'll talk about your goals.
After that I'll create a customized exercise program using the video exercise library I've created. You'll get a breakdown of what days you should be performing what exercises and I'll create a playlist on my YouTube channel titled "yourname". Then, I'll send you the link to that playlist so you can see the exercises performed and what to focus on while performing the exercise.
This is a powerful piece of EDGE Training Group and one that I'm personally very excited about. The three phases of training are Base Builder, Fitness Builder and Advanced Training. Exercises from one or all of these libraryies may be prescribed in your custom exercise program. Here's some more information about each of the three exercise libraries.

- Learn basic movement patterns

Fitness Builder
- Build on your base fitness
- Add resistance to your exercises
- Incorporate multi joint/more full body movements
- Build speed and fluidity through movement
- Prepares you for Advanced Training
Advanced Training
- Challenges neuromuscular and cardiovascular system
- Develops peak performance
- Great for athletes just a couple of weeks out from competition
- Individuals need not engage in this library but one or two times a week and should be used strategically to avoid injury.
You'll also gain access to progression/regression videos teaching you how to safely make exercises harder or easier in real time.
